Tweetils.com was officially launched on April 27th, 2009 by Scott Chrestman (@schrestman). Scott started the site because many of the free twitter utilities that are currently online have started to charge or require membership to use their services. With the recent explosion of Twitter, Scott see's those sites as just trying to cash in on the latest craze. While we will never charge for our services, we have placed Google AdSense ads on a few key pages to help subsidize server and bandwidth charges.

The second reason for starting Tweetils.com was because Scott was bored in his spare time, and needed a new project to work on! A programmer at heart with a love for Perl, the backend library that runs Tweetils.com was written on a rainy afternoon in Austin, TX. Our library can interact with every single Twitter API Call allowing rapid application development for just about anything we can dream up! Scott started with basic utilities, such as Suggester, Auto Follower, and Auto Unfollower. Shortly afterwards, Twittectomy was launched.

Scott is very much open to suggestions and new ideas that could be implemented here at Tweetils.com, as well as bug reports, critiques, and (friendly) criticism! The best way to contact him would be to send an @schresetman mention to get his attention. You can also e-mail him at schrestman@gmail.com.

Thank you for taking the time to check out Tweetils.com!
